Community Xmas Working day meals available in Waite Park, Sartell

Christmas this year is not the cheery holiday break it should really be. The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic has led to several folks losing their work opportunities and their income.

For some people, it could be much more tricky to have a standard getaway food. Thankfully, groups that host free Christmas dinners for those who have to have them have not been stopped by the pandemic.

“We’re in this article due to the fact we know that this is perhaps a much more difficult 12 months than usual,” claimed Joe Cordie, organizer for the Waite Park Boy Scout Troop 20 Xmas Day supper. “We just want to allow individuals know that we are right here to provide them with a heat food.”

Though Boy Scout Troop 20 won't be able to serve meals indoors, like at the 30th annual dinner shown here Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, they will still offer meals via delivery or curbside pick up for Christmas Day this year.

Although the troop will never be equipped to open up St. Joseph’s Church at 106 6th Ave. N., in Waite Park to provide meals indoors due to the pandemic, they will be presenting contactless delivery and curbside pickup.

To prepare for select up or shipping and delivery of a meal, connect with 320-380-3794. Supply will be readily available to St. Cloud, Waite Park, St. Joseph, Sauk Rapids and Sartell, according to the event’s Fb webpage at fb.com/ChristmasDinnerStCloudArea. Curbside decide on up will be accessible from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. 

Meals will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, corn and pie, Cordie explained.
